How One Diver Saved More Than USD $465 in a Year With PADI Club

Is PADI Club worth it?” is often the first question potential members have – and it’s a fair one. If you’re going to sign up for something, you want to know that your money is well spent. In the case of joining PADI Club, it certainly is worth the membership fee.

To prove the point, we’ve taken a look at one diver’s potential PADI Club journey over the course of a year. During this time, our diver was able to save a grand total of $469.30. These savings were calculated at the time this article was published (October 2024) but are subject to change.

Sound too good to be true? It’s not. Here’s a breakdown of how they saved with PADI Club’s benefits.

The first step, of course, is signing up for PADI Club. How much does PADI Club cost? It’s USD $49.95 for a one-year membership. The next step? Let the savings begin!

Here are the PADI Club benefits (and savings) our PADI Club member enjoyed.

As part of PADI Club, each member receives one free eCard every year in one of the Club-exclusive designs (shown above).

PADI Club members get one free online PADI ReActivate® course included in their membership. This course otherwise costs USD $75.

Our diver decided to invest in this refresher, which is the ideal way to refresh your dive knowledge and keep your scuba skills sharp, after being out of the water for more than 12 months.

As a PADI Club Member, divers get 20% of most PADI eLearning courses. The more courses you take as a PADI Club member, the greater your savings become. Our diver completed their Rescue Diver course along with three PADI Specialties (meaning they’re only two specialties away from becoming a Master Scuba Diver — and maximizing their entries to the Master Scuba Diver Challenge!).

After completing the Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver course, our diver invested in a physical certification card to show that they had completed the course. This cert card is especially useful for dive shops to quickly verify that you’re enriched air certified. A physical certification card currently costs USD $53, meaning our diver saved USD $13.25 on their purchase.

ScubaDivingMagazine PADI Club

To stay up-to-date with the scuba diving community, our diver subscribed to Scuba Diving magazine. In the magazine, they were able to read about the latest gear innovations, the hottest scuba diving destinations and tips and tricks to finetune their new diving skills.

Physical subscriptions are only available in the USA, but international members can access the digital magazine. An nnnual subscription to Scuba Diving magazine is USD $34.95. As a Club member, it cost our diver $0.

Our diver treated themselves to one of Tula Blue‘s attractive and minimalist jewelry pieces — The Durango Men’s Wrap. At 15% off, they saved another USD $14.25.

Every diver needs a good pair of water-ready shoes. Our diver decided that these Wave Runner Aqua Slip-Ons were right for them, and they saved USD $5.60 with their PADI Club x Wave Runner discount.

Freshfield produces a range of environmentally conscious supplements and active nutrition products. Our diver discovered these supplements thanks to their PADI Club membership and saved on USD $2.40 the Turmeric + Ginger Capsules and USD $2.30 on the Ocean Saving Omega™ Fish Oil Replacement.

Remember how our diver took the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course? After learning how to optimize their underwater photography set-up, they decided to invest in a new SeaLife camera set at their local PADI Dive Shop. Because they are a PADI Club member, they received a free Sea Dragon 900-lumen mini dive light (with a value of USD $119.95).

As you can see, a PADI Club membership really can save you hundreds of dollars — especially as a diver who is taking the next steps in their diving education. And even if you’re actively earning certifications, PADI Club benefits still stack up to more savings than the membership fee. Join PADI Club now and start saving today!
